Originally built for the kids 4 years ago. The kids have loved playing in it but sadly it is time to move it on as the kids want a trampoline and we have limited space.

Built to last and can be easily deconstructed and reconstructed. The main structure is 90×90 cypress pine (rot and termite resistant) posts bolted together to 120×45 pine horizontals. There are 8 posts (each costing about $90 at bunnings) all with galv post shoes which sit on a concrete slab. The cladding and floor is also pine and screwed with galv screws.

All bolts are galv.

If you are after a cubby house that is super solid and will last for decades (or is resellable in the future) then this is it. We have had family dinners in the upstairs section (we were trying to get creative during a covid lockdown).

The cubby has sat under our back verandah so has been protected from the weather too.

One thing to also note is the ‘back wall’ is made with plywood. The kids have also added their artistic flare to the cladding.

Features include:

– letter box

– approx 3.2m high (plenty of vertical space for growing kids)

– flag pole

– multi colour led light system in the upper storey controlled with remote (requires access to power)

– pipes connect the two levels for kids to pull things up using a bucket and string (they pull the bucket up through the pipe to reduce risk of the bucket dropping onto someone below)

– there is also a ‘communication pipe’ between the two levels (note: a 90×90 pvc connector requires replacement as damaged which is easy to fix)

– solid steel mesh ‘room’ (I’m 100kg and can stand/sit in this area)

– sand pit area (currently without sand)- steering wheel set up with ‘controls’

– plenty of handles for kids to hold onto when climbing in/out

– bark chips (yours if you would like to take)

– over $2000 worth just in materials

I can help you with dismantling and carrying to your vehicle/trailer but you will need to be able to put it all back together (using screws and bolts).

Call me if you have any queries or wish to inspect.

I prefer phone call over text or email.
