These lovely Jazz Style Small Body Cutaway Guitars are the new model from Martinez Guitars, that are easy to handle and great to play. They’re a great choice for the person wanting to dabble in that timeless Jazz sound, but you can play what you want on them too!
They come in a range of finishes but arent a mainstream model, so I usually keep one std model here, and one with the Piezo under-saddle Pickup which sounds quite good, but you don’t have to plug it in to enjoy playing, it’s just a bonus to have and costs $30 extra.
When you purchase from me you get all of the following Prep-work and Set-up procedures (which I charge customers at least $120 for when they bring their own guitars in to have this work done) at no extra cost, so that your guitar is great to play and to own;
* Fret Polish & Dress (as necessary). And believe me they need it and it makes a world of difference.
* Lemon Oil treatment for that thirsty fretboard and bridge.
* Neck Relief Adjusted.
* Nut Action set.
* I toss the plastic saddle and fit a compensated Bone Saddle Upgrade. We are getting up to 20% better projection from the sound-hole, and bone has other benefits too. They cost me $10 each ($20 for LH). Why would I shrink my margin further if I wasn’t driven by passion?
All this is done on every acoustic guitar and more that I don’t mention.In fact, every guitar that arrives from Victoria sits for around 7 days before I start work on it. This is because they all respond to the Qld climate which involves the body raising the string action to be uncomfortable to play. This is a powerful reason not to buy one online from the South, as there’ll be work to do to get it playing well and manufacturers do not cover the cost to rectify this when guitars come to Qld.
I do this for you to enjoy your Guitar, as many people give up learning because the guitar is poorly set up and hard to play.
