Billy Thorpe used Strauss Amp power at Sunbury back in the day and at the time reportedly had the loudest amp in Oz.Strauss began in Sth Yarra and like many Aust companies was forced out of business by mass production from Asia. Strauss is now owned by Jade Aust who are also a Melbourne based company who are making the range of Solid State and Valve Amps at their own factory in China.

I myself still own a Strauss Valve Amp which I used to play professionally.
